Yes! We can cut timber to your specified lengths, so it’s ready to use immediately. Simply provide your measurements when placing your order online or in-person.
Yes, we serve builders, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts. Trade customers can open an account for bulk orders, and public customers can order smaller quantities directly from our yard or online.

General Questions

Yes, we are open on Saturdays from 7:30am-11:30am, but our Mill will be closed.
Our Mill is closed between 12:30-13:30, if you require a product to be cut to size this will not be able to be done during this hour. However, our shop and yard remain open.
We accept all major Credit and Debit cards, Cash and Cheques as well as BACs payment. All are payable on site prior to delivery/collection. We do not accept American Express. We also accept payment over the phone.
As long as it is not a bespoke order, we will accept your return and process a refund. You must have proof of receipt and the goods must be in the same condition as they were purchased.
We are centrally located north of the village of Silverstone, just off the A43. Our postcode is NN12 8FS. If this is not yet recognised by your sat nav, then please type in Linnell Bros rather than a postcode and this will take you directly here.

Project Advice & Installation

Selecting the right timber depends on your project: Fencing: Treated softwood is durable outdoors. Decking: Pressure-treated hardwood or softwood boards work best. Construction: Structural timber rated for load-bearing. If unsure, our experts at our Northampton yard are happy to advise.
Decking: Clean regularly and apply decking oil annually. Fencing: Treat with preservative every 2–3 years. Garden sleepers: Ensure proper drainage to prevent rotting.
